Each year, MSA designates a day to raise awareness about hunger. In this nation-wide campaign, participants pledge to fast one day from dawn till dusk to experience hunger first hand. For each person that fasts, participating business sponsors donate a certain amount of money to charity.

Last year, 450 people participated in the Fast-a-thon. That resulted in raising $2000 for the Lawrence Open Shelter.

MSA members are currently hard at work to bring this year's Fastathon to life. Committees have been formed, meetings are being held, and tens of emails are circulating to ensure the success of this year's stand against hunger both world-wide and in our local communities.
